Research from Key Journals

The main nursing and midwifery journal publishers are providing access to collections of articles on coronavirus.

Nursing Standard COVID-19 - To support all nurses and health care professionals during this challenging period, Nursing Standard has developed a dedicated collection of free resources relevant to the current COVID-19 pandemic. These include evidence-based clinical articles, and a selection of relevant RCNi learning modules.

Wiley Library -Wiley (publisher of the Journal of Advanced Nursing) has made relevant research articles, book chapters and entries in their major references freely available below, in support of the global efforts in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and further research in this disease and similar viral respiratory infections.

Nursing Times Coronavirus Clinical Zone - This zone collates essential clinical content to help nurses refresh skills and knowledge they may need to work in unfamiliar settings or to support students and those returning to practice.

The Lancet Resource Centre - To assist health workers and researchers working under challenging conditions to bring this outbreak to a close, The Lancet has created a Coronavirus Resource Centre. This resource brings together new 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) content from across The Lancet journals as it is published. All of our COVID-19 content is free to access.


 

Evidence-Based Practice Resources

These links provide access to the most relevant EVIDENCE based practice guidance, research and best practice around Covid-19

 The Cochrane Library are developing a suite of special collections. To date these cover, critical care, infection control and quitting smoking. 

The Joanna Briggs Institute have put together a suite of special collections which are divided up by health professional health care organisation and also provide supplementary information such as videos. 

National Institute Health and Care Excellence (NICE) – are supporting the NHS by providing rapid reviews and evidence summaries. To date topics covered include: critical care, managing symptoms and dialysis. 

World Health Organization (WHO) Global research on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is gathering all scientific data and research and has built a database of literature which is being updated regularly.
